Let's say that you've set up 'My Zoo' on Facebook. You get there by going to the 'My Zoo' application. Type 'My Zoo' into Facebook's search gadget, and then click on 'Go to Application'.

I've built a zoo, built a couple parking lots, set the ticket price a bit higher, now I need some animals. At first I'll just build a petting zoo. That'll attract some customers.

I click on the animals tab and buy everything I can. Don't go above ten animals, and try to make it as diversified as you can at first. I'm going to buy 5 of everything.

If I started out with negative profit... just by buying 5 chickens, my profit is now $67. After buying 5 polish chickens, my profit is $91 a day. 48 people are coming every day, and they're 86 percent satisfied. Pretty stupid people to like a zoo that has ten birds, all of which are chickens; but go figure people.

I buy 5 sheep, now I'm getting 81 people a day and they're 97 percent satisfied. I think one of the reasons I like this game is it's easy to please people in this game.

I buy 5 Nigerian Dwarf Goats and suddenly 112 people a day love my zoo. They're 100% satisfied and they can't even buy a hotdog.

I'm getting $204 a day. After buying all the animals I can, 224 people are coming to the zoo, but there's only an 85% satisfaction value. Gee, all that poop is stinking the place up.

We better hire some poop scrapers. I click on 'Properties' and ta-dah, there are the people. I need 2 zookeepers and 1 poop scraper. After hiring them, the satisfaction number is still at 85%. They need a place to park. I build 25 parking lots for $12,500. That ought to please the little *@$@#'s.

What? Still 85% satisfaction rating? I should have stayed back with that shack and ten chickens. They were 100% happy back then.

Oh, I see, if you click on the satisfaction number, it shows that parking is still the problem. I didn't buy 25 parking lots, I didn't have enough money.

So, I figure up how many I can afford with the $4,987 that's left.

Ahah. It says I need land in order to build parking lots. So, I buy 10 lots of land, then I build two parking lots (you need 5 for each parking lot). 100% satisfaction. However, there's problems with the employees. I need another groundskeeper now that I have parking lots.

Whoops, my overhead is too much now. I'm losing money.

Profit is -$52. I need to increase the amount I charge. I set the ticket price to $4. People are now satisfied 95% of the time. I set the ticket price to $3 and have 99% satisfaction, but I'm still losing money. If I go to the Animals section, I can't afford anything yet, but I would be able to buy Exmoor ponies, build an Indian Blue Peacock enclosure, or a Red Kangaroo Enclosure... if my zoo can last. And that's how it starts with 'My Zoo'. It's fun.

When you're getting negative money, sometimes it pays to really jack up the advertising. Make sure that you have enough money to pad the total until people start coming. However, if they don't come? Well... You had better make the right decision.

The question is, the next time I go back, will My Zoo be bankrupt?

For those people who can't access facebook because of restrictions or censorship, then check out this post, how to access if Facebook blocked. There's plenty of benefits in protecting your online anonymity, now back to my zoo.
